Fraunhofer-Center Nanoelectronic Technologies

The Fraunhofer Center Nanoelectronic Technology CNT in Dresden is an organization of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft in public-private partnership with Qimonda AG and Advances Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD)

The CNT stands exemplary for a new way of interlocking science and production. Dresden offers excellent local conditions for a cooperative research platform for nanoelectronics, which is open to cooperation with materials and equipment manufacturers.

The CNT´s goal is to develop innovative process solutions, fast and efficiently, and to transfer them directly into the manufacturing environment, based on 300mm wafer production in close collaboration with AMD´s two microprocessor facilities (Fab 36) and Qimonda Dresden Given the short life cycles of products within the semiconductor industry this platform gives the industrial partners the opportunity to provide cost-effective and innovative product.
